Event Spotlight: Social Media Impact/Drug Diversion Conference

What inspired you to create this event? What should people know about it?

This evening event regarding social media’s impact on teenagers revolves around the Alexander Neville Foundation, founded by Alex’s mom Amy. Alex passed away of an unexpected Fentanyl overdose at 14 years old. If you visit her webpage there are videos, about the foundation and their mission purpose’s.

The foundation focuses on teenagers and how social media (snapchat, facebook, Instagram etc) all can be deceiving for teenagers when they do not know how to navigate the social media world.

Brockway Center for Arts & Technology is a nonprofit 501c3 organization that provides no cost education, we are collaborating with the PA Attorney General’s office and Titusville Area school district (our local education district) to get the word out and about and promote this event.

This is our first community evening event. Last year we hosted a Drug Diversion in Healthcare conference for 1.5 days and it was a success. This year, we are continuing with our 2nd drug diversion conference and adding in this evening event for parents, teenagers, and employees of schools/educators.
